Our Story

About Space Dust Industries

A small company with real infrastructure, working inside the NASA supply chain and building toward a sustainable industrial future in space.

Who We Are

Space Dust Industries Inc. is a Colorado-based, government-registered contractor. Today we work as a subcontractor within the NASA supply chain while building our own applied-AI and manufacturing capability — the private compute, offline AI systems, and scan-to-print pipeline described on our capabilities page.

Mission

To develop the AI, robotics, and manufacturing technologies that make space industry sustainable — turning orbital debris from a threat into a resource, and building the autonomous systems that a real space economy will run on.

Vision

A circular economy in orbit: debris captured, materials recycled, parts manufactured in space, and asteroid resources feeding it all — coordinated by AI at every layer.

Milestones

  1. 2022

    Founded

Space Dust Industries incorporates in Colorado with a mission of sustainable space industry.

  2. 2023

    Government Registration

Registered as a government contractor and began pursuing work in the federal space ecosystem.

  3. 2024

    Into the NASA Supply Chain

Began subcontract work within a NASA prime contract chain.

  4. 2025

    AI Infrastructure Buildout

Stood up our private multi-GPU AI research cluster, offline edge-AI stack, and 3D scan-to-print pipeline.

  5. 2026

    R&D Programs Underway

Active reinforcement-learning and robotics research; exotic-alloy additive manufacturing venture in development.

Roadmap — where we're aiming

  1. Next

    Manufacturing & Autonomy

An AI-documented exotic-alloy printing service on the ground; autonomy research moving onto physical platforms.

  2. 2030s

    Toward Orbit

The long-term mission areas — debris remediation, orbital recycling, in-space manufacturing, and asteroid resources. Aspirational, and we say so plainly.

How We Work

  • Own the infrastructure. Our AI runs on our hardware — a discipline, not a preference.
  • Build honestly. Vision pages read like vision; capability pages describe only what exists.
  • Document everything. From AI research to manufacturing, the record is part of the product.
  • Stay small, move fast. The people you talk to are the people doing the work.
